The events emphasize the empowerment of women who have been victimized and educate others to avoid becoming victims or what to do if they are victimized. Students will learn about available treatment and support for women and children and discuss policy and legal issues.

T-shirt for the clothesline are used to symbolize the type of victimization that impacts a person or their loved one.
The colors of the t-shirts are significant:
Pink, red or orange indicates rape or sexual assault.
Black indicates gang rape or sexual assault on a handicapped individual.
Different shades of purple indicate Homophobic violence.
Gray indicates victims of hate crimes.
Brown, yellow,and
beige are victims of battery and assault.
Blue and green are survivors of child sexual abuse and/or incest.
White indicates death from family violence.
Members of the university, other local colleges and local
communities are urged to attend any session(s) that interest them. The
Take Back the Night and the Clothesline Project
are being done as an education and empowerment week long project by the
Social Work Club and Social Work Program.
